We proposed a modeling framework that serves as a mitigation planning tool disruption context that anticipates and integrates uncertainty from the design phase onward. The framework proposed, based on robust optimization, integrates both a Mixed-Integer Linear Program (MILP) model and a heuristic approach to select potential exporters and importers and to identify alternative strategic resources. This study addresses the issue of global food shortages under conditions of uncertainty and seeks to develop optimized distribution strategies. The following key question is: how can the sourcing strategy be defined to minimize shortages and ensure a continuous flow within a sustainable context?
